Welcome to A2 media!

As media is officially over, the exam and course work is officially complete! My predicted grade is a B which I am happy about, so now in A2 I'm going to strive towards an A! Each possible task was given to us today, the one which stuck out most in my mind, and appealed to my creative side was the T.V documentary, or a soap trailer. The T.V documentary because it sounds exiting and the trailer because one of my close friends had done this as her As media project, and it was quite successful, she also got an A in her coursework.

Here are some examples of a range of trailers, which can give us ideas and start to train our brains how trailers work, another reason why trailers are convenient is because we live in a world where we can't escape advertising.

every shot featured in this trailer, you will notice are close ups. This is so the short clip can introduce each character quickly, close ups are necessary because the audience have to get a feel of which characters they might be watching in future. Most characters will have sex appeal, because as they say in the industry "sex sells", if the audience has an instant attraction to a character, weather it be obvious, or sub conscience; the likely hood of them tuning in will be high.
Within this short clip we already know the the names of the main characters, and this is from the use of text, alongside a interesting shot of the character.
There are a series of quick cuts, the trailer has to be fast pace to keep the audience interested. The non-diagetic music as to be related to the contents of the soap, a piano piece is featured in this clip, which compliments the horror, Gothic fantasy theme which is obvious through the use of set design, characters, music, dialogue and action.
